Mark your calendars for a day filled with excitement and community spirit at the ‘What’s Your Move?’ event on August 11, 2024! Hosted at the Dorothy Hyman Sports Centre in Cudworth, Barnsley, this Olympic-inspired family fun day is the perfect way to celebrate the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics with friends and family. Running from 10 AM to 3 PM, this event is brought to you by Jolly Good Communities and the sports centre.

What to Expect at ‘What’s Your Move?’

This unique event promises a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy. From sports demonstrations and showcases to interactive health-related stalls and community groups, there’s something for everyone. A Spotlight on Archery

We’re excited to announce that our very own Barnsley YMCA Archers will be a part of this spectacular event! Throughout the day, we’ll be hosting a free have-a-go archery session. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone curious about the sport to pick up a bow and arrow and give it a try – completely free of charge!

Have-a-Go Sessions

Whether you’re an aspiring Robin Hood or just looking for a new hobby, our have-a-go sessions are perfect for all skill levels. Our experienced club members will be on hand to guide you through the basics of archery, ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable experience. It’s a fun and engaging way to learn more about the sport and perhaps even discover a new passion.

Club Member Demonstrations

In addition to the have-a-go sessions, we will also have several club member demonstrations throughout the day. These showcases will feature:
