A Spooktacular Evening at Our Halloween Fun Shoot!
Friday 27th October saw Barnsley YMCA Archers transform the sports hall into a spooky shooting ground for our Halloween Fun Shoot and what a fantastic night it was! From creepy costumes to candy chaos, everyone got into the Halloween spirit (quite literally!).
The hall looked amazing, decorated with handmade Halloween targets designed by our creative members – from grinning pumpkins to ghastly ghosts. Add to that a wall of balloons just begging to be popped, some even hiding sweet treats inside, and you had a recipe for archery fun with a spooky twist!
Of course, no Halloween event would be complete without costumes and chaos! Our members did not disappoint:
- Gary brought the drama with a skull mask that puffed smoke (definitely added atmosphere to the hall!) 💀
- Hannah kept energy levels sky-high, roaming around all evening with a tub of sweets, making sure everyone had their sugar fix 🍬
- Ciaran sported a pumpkin face on the back of his puff jacket 🎃
- Kath & Iain donned ghoulish face masks that gave us all a fright (in the best way!) 👹
- Poppy rocked spider web face paint, looking perfectly on theme 🕸️
- Jayne showed up in style with a Halloween headband and spooky shirt 👻
- Dave and Mark twinned with skeleton archery shirts, proving once again that archery and bones go hand-in-hand! ☠️🏹
We shot through the spooky targets, burst our way through balloons, and laughed our way through the evening. Midway through, we took a break for some tea, coffee, cakes, and plenty of treats next door in the Youth Centre – the perfect pit stop before more archery fun!
The night was full of laughter, sugar, and spectacular shots (both on and off the targets!). It was brilliant to see everyone having fun, showing off their Halloween spirit, and getting creative with their costumes and targets alike.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in, brought decorations, baked treats, and helped make the evening such a success. 🎯💀🍪
